Finally, i finished Battlefield: Bad Company 2 last night, i must say the game is quite good. Before i start my review, i must remind you this review is based on single player campaign only, gaming experience may change during online game play . Again the review will be base on story, visual, audio, control, game play.

Story: 2/5 !!!SPOILER WARNING!!!
The game begin on an unnamed WW2 island, just before the drop of atomic bombs on Japan, US sent in a four man commando to retrieve a defector, who has information on a ultimate weapon which might possess by Japan. In the end of the chapter, you get a glimpse of the power of this Yami no Buuki (weapon of darkness). The time revert back to present time, the four protagonist from the last Bad Company game is send to retrieve an agent, who believe to be captured by the Russian (Russian again?!). After rescuing the agent, the team is send to search for the missing part of the weapon. So far the story is just not that good, its just another one of those Hollywood story, where the hero, which in this case heroes, send to investigate something and found out some one has that something and decide to destroy America with it, then heroes decide to play heroes and go to stop them and loses some one in the process. Anyhow, the story is not really the charming point of the game.
Visual: 3/5
The graphic itself is just amazing, the game take place in many places, such as jungle, snowy mountain, slump and some few more places. All of this places is rendered in full scale, which mean if there are enemies standing far away across the map, if you have a gun with a scope you can shoot him without noticing the others. The part which they did really great is the jungle, it really make you feel you are in the jungle together with the perfect sound effect. Below is a screen shot on the game on a Nvidia Geforce9600 GT card on medium setting, One can get a medium setting on a 9600GT card with a effect like this which is really good. Set beside the good part, there is few weak point too, the model of the gun doesn't look that good, it doesn't really give people this thing is make out of steel feeling. Another part would be, the movement of the enemy, i must say it looks rather stiff compare to another one of it competitor out there (you know which one i mean), as example when they are hit by grenade they didn't even get blown away, they just drop dead at the same spot, is it really so troublesome just to put in rag doll physic into them?
"this how detail the jungle looks, see the distance mountain? you can climb up to it."
Audio: 4/5
Wow, i must admit the game really really shine in the audio part, the most successful of the game, i think come from the unbelievably good sound effect, when you first start playing you will notice that you has different gun firing sound, one is indoor, another is outdoor. For indoor, u can hear the echo of your gunfire, and the drop of your empty bullet case, each sound come with a different echo. if you in an open area, i mean real open area like a field, u can hear the other kind of echo of your gun fire, u can hear that the sound just echo back to you so naturally, there is one sound effect i really like, which is the 50 caliber sniper, after each shot, it need to eject empty bullet case manually by it user, the interesting part is if u change magazine before last shot is make meaning there is still one bullet left in the barrel, pay attention to the sound when the bullet, you can hear there are 2 different of the cse droping one is empty case another one is the live case meaning there is still bullet in it. the development team really put a lot of effort into making the sound as real as possible, two thumbs up for the development team~~~!!!
Control: 3.5/5
Not much to say about the control thou, just the usual First Person Shooter game control but for those who play Call of Duty 6 lately will find the "throw grenade" button a bit off, it is on "f" key rather than the "g" key. that really a big deal, since most of the button is mapped perfectly, the game also give clear command on which key do which function, so all is cool even the game itself has a lot of transports , but the control for the transports are almost all the same, so i bet you won't get confuse that easy. Oh, before i forgot, you can't prone in this game, how can you can't prone in a military shooter game, because that the fact you can't prone, it really make you more vulnerable to enemy gun fire, which is really stupid. Lastly, if you don't really have a good mouse like me, you might also want to remap your melee to another key, rather than the default middle mouse button because every time i want to melee enemy but instead i accidentally swap my weapon.
"one of the transport in the game, Patrol Boats"Game play: 3.5/5
The game provide variety of game play, you want to sneak up on people? It got it. You want to ride different kind of transport? It got it. You want intense shooting? surely it has it too. The game does has a lot of good moment, you shoot and drive and even skydive in a few scene. For the one who play the game first time, the game has excellent physic engine, all the houses or walls you see in this game is destructible, if you think you are safe hiding behind the wall and sniping the hell out of your enemy, the next thing you know you would be staring straight at the ceiling, chances are another one of your enemy fire a RPG (Rocket Propel Grenade) straight at the wall that you are hiding behind, ya you heard it right, straight to the wall where you are hiding, and you are blown away dead, even gun fire might some lighter cover such as wood but i want to complain that the concrete in this game is too soft, it just too easily breakable by just using a machine gun, it just break too fast. Although the map is rendered rather big but the downside is, you can free roam the map anywhere you like because if you walk to far away you get a "leaving mission area" count down timer, if you didn't go back the route in time, you will freaking self-destruct(in-game they say you get hit by mortar, how convenient), some time you just wander too far out and can't get back in in-time, then you have to restart from the last checkpoint again and this game has too few checkpoint, you will know what i mean.
"Boom!!! the wall is gone"The good part of the game play is where they mock the s**t out of Call of Duty 6, this is more like an Easter eggs, this is for you to discover then.
Final Verdict: 3.5/5
"Shoot Zkhav...ohhh i mean Kirilenko"
Overall, Bad Company 2 is a freaking good game, a lot of fun but to take away a few point is that the game is just so short, you can almost finish it under 4 hour, guess now-a-day is hard to find a long play time game. Just don't compare it to Call of Duty 6 anymore, they both shine it their own way.
